Meet Our WSET Wine Educators

Born and raised in Piedmont, home of Barolo and Barbaresco, Federico developed his passion for wine among the vineyards of Monferrato and the Langhe. In 2025, he achieved the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines.

Based in Amsterdam, Federico combines an international marketing career with a deep interest in wine, vineyards and wine tourism. He regularly visits wine regions around the world and is developing a project focused on promoting wine tourism in Italy.

At Eleanor Wine Academy, Federico brings his Italian wine background, international perspective and WSET knowledge to the classroom. Meet Federico in our WSET Level 3 & 2 Award in Wines courses in Amsterdam.

Gosia is an Amsterdam-based sommelier and wine professional with experience in restaurant management, fine dining and professional wine service. She has worked at venues including The Lobby Fizeaustraat, Spectrum at Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam and Oocker Wine Bar.

She now holds the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines, one of WSET's most advanced wine qualifications, as well as WSET Level 3 in Sake. Her background combines advanced wine knowledge with extensive practical experience in hospitality, tasting and service.

At Eleanor Wine Academy, Gosia brings this experience into the classroom, helping students understand not only wine theory, but how grape varieties, regions, winemaking and tasting come together in the glass.

Johan is French-German, was raised internationally and has lived in Amsterdam since 2021. He was introduced to French wine from an early age through family dinners and later developed a broader interest in wine through travel and his South African family connections.

While maintaining a particular appreciation for Burgundy, Johan has explored wines from regions around the world. In 2025, he completed the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines at Eleanor Wine Academy and plans to continue his studies towards the WSET Diploma.

Alongside his career in finance, Johan teaches WSET Levels 1 and 2, sharing his enthusiasm with students who want to understand wine in a structured and approachable way.

Micaela is an American wine enthusiast based in Amsterdam. Her interest in wine grew from a curiosity about why certain wines pair so naturally with particular foods, leading her to pursue formal wine education.

After completing WSET Levels 2 and 3, she began sharing that knowledge with other wine lovers. Alongside her career in tech, Micaela teaches WSET courses at Eleanor Wine Academy with an approachable style that helps students understand wine without making it feel intimidating.

She particularly enjoys helping students build the confidence to taste, describe and choose wines with greater understanding.
