Grape Variety: Frappato

Typical of Sicily, Frappato has all the right ingredients to make a very versatile convivial wine. Pleasant as an aperitif as it is to accompany cured meats, chicken or even grilled fish (yes, yes, red wine for fish), Frappato is a fruit bomb with refreshing acidity.

The wines have a nice ruby color and the alcohol content rarely exceeds 13%.
It is commonly found as a component of Sicily’s only DOCG wines: with Nero d’Avola (50-70%) and Cerasuolo di Vittoria (30-50%) DOCG*, “vini rossi” from the areas around Ragusa, Catania and Syracuse.
In short, a delicious red wine with the typical fiery character of Sicily!
