Start your wine education journey with the WSET Level 1 wine course at Eleanor Wine Academy, a Premier Wine Academy in Amsterdam. This introductory wine course in Amsterdam provides a comprehensive foundation for systematically tasting wines. You'll explore the most popular grape varieties and their diverse wine styles, learn the principles of perfect wine and food pairing, and understand professional techniques for serving and storing wines.
The WSET Level 1 course at Eleanor Wine Academy is structured as follows:

Regular at wine tastings? Raise your wine knowledge with the WSET 2. Explore 70 wine regions, learn about 30 grape varieties and their distinctive characteristics. Taste 6(+) wines in each class and write tasting notes professionally as a sommelier would do.
The price includes the study material (textbook, workbook and WSET SAT card) examination and course fee.

- One evening per week for 6 weeks
- 1 Extra day for the exam
- Certified WSET Instructor

Hi, I’m Pascal, your wset 1 & 2 Educator
Pascal was born and raised in Belgium, but his passion for wine started some 40 years ago at his grandparents’ winery in Crete, Greece. During their daily mediterranean lunch under the pergola of their traditional whitewashed house, Pascal was allowed to taste their wine in very small quantities. His wine journey continued back home, where his parents instilled in him their passion for French quality wines. In 2022, Pascal decided to formalise his passion by completing the WSET Level 1, 2, and 3 courses. He is currently completing the Rioja Diploma Course in Spanish, as he works as a teacher of Spanish at a secondary school in Amsterdam. In addition, he teaches Dutch, French, and German. This passion inspired him to create his own company, Vinolingo, a unique space where languages and wine come together.
At present, he is still deciding between pursuing the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wine or a Master’s in Oenology, in Spanish, of course. Meet Pascal in one of our WSET Level 1 and 2 courses at the Eleanor Wine Academy!

HI, I’M Federico, YOUR WSET level 1 & 2 COURSE EDUCATOR
Federico is an Italian wine enthusiast living in Amsterdam. In 2021 Federico passed his WSET level 3 and he is currently attending the Diploma course.
Born and bred in Piedmont, the land of Barolo and Barbaresco, he was in contact with wine since his childhood, spending a lot of time in the steep vineyards of Monferrato and Langhe.
Marketing manager with international experience, he dreams to put his experience at the service of the wine industry. He uses his spare time to visit vineyards across the world and recently started to work on a project which will help to boost wine tourism in Italy. Meet Federico in our WSET Level 2 Award in Wines classes!

HI, I'M CHRISTIE, YOUR WSET 1- 3 COURSE EDUCATOR
Christie hails from South Africa where she was lucky enough to live wine both literally (through her home overlooking vineyards) and figuratively (through her career). Her passion for wine was ignited as a marketing student in the university town of Stellenbosch, a town that also lies at the heart of the South African winelands. Her wine journey has included stints as marketing manager for a winery, the running of a wine shop and wine club, hosting of wine tastings and dinners and the co-ordination of Women in Wine, an educational upliftment programme aimed at previously disadvantaged women working in the South African wine industry. She has travelled to many wine regions globally including those in South America, USA, New Zealand and Europe. Christie completed her WSET Diploma in 2017. She was a WSET Wine Educator in Cape Town and is excited to be able to continue to share her knowledge and passion for wine here in the Netherlands at the Eleanor Wine Academy!

hi i'm nergiz, your wset 1-3 educator
Nergiz’s passion for wine was ignited by her curiosity on food science and how food pairs with wine. While she was still pursuing a finance career full time, she attended WSET classes in Amsterdam to get more knowledge on the grapes. And as she loved the world of wine so much, the natural path appeared as attending the WSET Diploma program which she completed in Belgium in 2018.
Since 2022 Nergiz arranges private and corporate wine tastings through her wine events company with a special place for her homeland Turkey’s indigenous grapes in her repertoire. In the summer of 2023 she has joined Eleanor Wine Academy to teach Levels 1 to 3. Nergiz lives with her husband and son in Amsterdam.
