Grape of the week: Viura (aka Macabeo)

Let's talk about remarkable grapes! 🍇 We're excited to share our new grape of the week: Viura 🥂
Almost 70% of white grapes from Rioja (Spain🇪🇸). Viura is capable of making dry white wines, with character that improve with age⚡️
Main synonym: Macabeo

The grape is late budding and late ripening (like Tempranillo!) Quality strongly depends on yields management and soils🌿

The regions where Viura is produced the most are
☝️Spain: Rioja, Cava, Aragon, Valencia,
Extramadura
✌ France: Roussillon
Young wines are fresh, herbal and easy to pair🍋🌿. Aged Viura become deliciously rich and nutty🐿

A perfect food & wine pairing for younger Viura is Korean & Vietnamese food🇰🇷🥢. Aged Viura pair the best with roasted meats, grilled chicken and herby soups. Yum!!😋🍗🍲
