Did you know that the Bordeaux En-Primeur tastings are happening this week?! Wine importers, journalists, hospitality professionals, and winemakers from all around the world have traveled to the vineyards of Bordeaux, France this week to attend one of the greatest events in the industry - the Bordeaux 2022 En Primeur Week.
We also made sure to attend the event, and are so happy to share with you a selection of the best moments we had in the region!
The past few days have been quite action-packed - we enjoyed picturesque views, met lovely wine enthusiasts and professionals, and (of course!) tasted INCREDIBLE wine and food from the châteaus we visited, including Château Gruaud Larose @gruaud_larose, Château Rieussec @chateau.rieussec, Château Citran @chateau_citran, and Château Giscours @chateaugiscours.
About the event:
The Bordeaux En-Primeur Week traditionally takes place every spring and welcomes thousands of people who taste wines that have been harvested the previous autumn. Over the week, critics give their score on each wine, which determines the prices set by each château. Afterwards, at the beginning of the summer, these prices are released and buyers can pre-book particular wines while they are still in the barrels. Finally, the wines are shipped to the buyers between 18 months and 3 years after bottling.
Getting familiar with the event (either by attending it, or by reading more about the outcomes of it every year) is a great way to sparkle your enthusiasm and deepen your understanding of the wine industry. This is why we highly recommend you doing so!
Have you attended the Bordeaux En-Primeur Week and we missed to say hello in person? Then tell us about your experience at the event in the comments below - we would be glad to hear more great stories from this fantastic week!
