Pinot blanc is a white grape variety🍇

which is a mutation of Pinot Noir. In Alsace, it is one of the few white wines to be a blend. It is in fact made up of the Pinot Blanc grape varieties, which originated in Burgundy and arrived in Alsace at the end of the Middle Ages🏰, and Pinot Auxerrois, a grape variety from Lorraine recently established in the region. It is thanks to the development of Crémant d'Alsace, which has had a recognized appellation since the 1970s, that the Pinot Blanc and Pinot Auxerrois grape varieties have developed in Alsace🇫🇷.

Younger brother of the pinot gris, also related to the pinot noir, the taste of a Pinot Blanc d'Alsace can be recognized by round and creamy fruity notes, reminiscent of apple 🍏 and peach 🍑 , with a seductive sweetness.
On the palate, the wines obtained from this grape variety, especially Alsace wines, are distinguished by their right balance between acidity and roundness. It is then possible to take this wine on all occasions. You will feel both freshness and suppleness. As far as acidity is concerned, Pinot Blanc wines are slightly more acidic than those made from Chasselas. These wines are less aromatic and lighter and are classified in the middle of the range of Alsace wines.🍷
