WINE STUDY: CHAMPAGNE

What is Champagne? Where does it come from? What flavours and aromas does Champagne have and why?

Champagne is a sparkling wine produced by using the traditional method. All authentic Champagne wines come from the Champagne region of France and made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier grapes.

A very good-quality Champagne has complex flavours of green fruit and citrus, and some autolytic notes such as biscuit and toasted bread.
