WINE PAIRING: Zucchini Linguine with Herbs and Grüner Veltliner

Grüner Veltliner is the signature wine grape of Austria. Classic Grüner Veltliner wines show citrus aromas, such as lemon peel and grapefruit, complemented by fresh vegetal notes and green, herbaceous flavours.

Grüner Veltliner is one of the most versatile food wine in the world due to its ability to pair with “difficult” foods such as artichokes and asparagus. Its firm minerality works well with many cuisines – from Austrian traditional to Asian fusion.

Grüner Veltliner is crisp and a perfect palate cleanser for richly flavoured foods. It’s also works well when a dish has lots of herbs.

Today, we would suggest to match Zucchini Linguine with herbs and Ried Schiefer Grüner Veltliner Kremstal 2017 from Meinhard Forstreiter Estate. A great savoury wine with pear peel, miso and yeast on the nose. On the palate a fresh zesty core and a yeasty, salty texture that is both fruity and spicy. The finish is long with lovely pear note.

Bon Appetit!
