Clos Du Val estate was founded by the Goelet family in 1972 in the Stag’s Leap District of Napa Valley, USA. The winery owns 320 acres and specializes in Cabernet Sauvignon, a favourite of the region.
In the history of North American winemaking, the Cabernet Sauvignon produced by the estate in 1972 is legendary. It was pitted against some of France’s finest wines in the 1976 Judgment of Paris tasting.
Today we are delighted to introduce Clos du Val Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 1995, an exceptional example of winery’s signature wine.
From a very successful vintage, this wine has elegant deep garnet colour. It’s characterized by attractive, concentrated aromas of blackberry jam with hints of black pepper and rich cedar notes in the nose, leading to harmonious, full-bodied flavours of ripe, dark fruits and spices. On the palate, it’s soft and rich, with fully integrated oak and silky mature tannins. Impeccably balanced with sweet oak mouthfeel and long velvety finish.
